Sequential pattern mining is quite commonly used in [[Educational data mining|educational data mining]] and [[Learning analytics|learning analytics]].
Given that learning is fundamentally a sequential learning process, you can identify patterns of behaviour that are correlated with good and performance.
It is commonly used with log data, which can be from [[Learning management system|learning management systems]], [[Exploratory learning environment|exploratory learning environments]] or even coded transcripts from collaborative learning scenarios.
These good and bad sequences can be used to produce interventions.
