Meditation is the meta-cognitive training of attention.
Training attention develops a control over the patterns of thought that are triggered, and thereby change the mental habits that govern your operation.
Whilst meta-cognitive properties such as reflection is often used to improve more standard learning outcomes, here we use meta-cognitive training to train our meta-cognition itself. Hence, measuring the learning outcomes can be incredibly difficult.
