Whilst Jean Piaget created the term constructivism, his student Seymour Papert created the term constructionism which incorporates constructivist theories of learning, but also posits that learning happens most effectively when constructing tangible artefacts in the world.
He talks about ideas of mathland, where akin to how a child acquires language through immersion in environments, computers could have the affordance for creating such environments that allow children to develop mathematical skills through engaging with and creating inside mathematical worlds (Papert, 1980). However, this may not be a fitting analogy given Chomsky's claim of an innate language acquisition device representing universal aspects of grammar, hence language and mathematics may be fundamentally different in the ways they are processes and acquired by the mind.
