I created this reading club to motivate increasingly interdisciplinary conversations around **education and technology**. The aim is to develop our skills to be intellectually, ideologically and methodologically eclectic in our pursuit of creating and/or improving the use of EdTech. While there is plenty of interdisciplinarity to explore within academic contexts, the aim is not to be confined to academia but also to focus on the pragmatics of how EdTech is created, disseminated, funded, confined, and implemented—spanning the roles of start-ups, non-profits, policy, and more. While ETEPS stands for Education, Technology, Economy, Policy, and Society, it represents a commitment to drawing from as many domains as are relevant to education and technology—a list that is forever growing. **Mission** 1. Read and construct knowledge about a variety of topics relating to education and technology (in the widest sense of the meaning of technology - a creation to outwit our circumstances). 2. Promote interdisciplinary discussion and debates, to foster a nuanced and well-rounded perspective on different issues. 3. Consistent, free and relevant lifetime learning. 4. Collate a community of individuals passionate about education and technology, with varying backgrounds (for example, teachers, professors, startup founders, policy makers and more). 5. Promote building connections (database), sharing knowledge, opportunities and events, as well as creating new collaborative opportunities. 6. A safe space to share and discuss ideas (including those that are heavily hypothetical and not fully formed) to support exploration and experimentation that might not fit within traditional settings. 7. A democratic participatory learning community, that self-governs its specific learning outcomes. **Mediums of Learning** - Engaging with readings in advance of the session *(Cognitive Constructivism)* - 1-hour discussions on Sundays *(Social Constructivism)* - AI-generated summaries *(Metacognitive Reflection)* and Anki flashcards for post-session review and long-term retention *(Behaviourism, Spaced Repetition)* - Asynchronous discussions in group chats *(Social Constructivism, Connectivism)* If this excites you, and you are interested in joining, feel free to reach out at [email protected].
